The pop-rock musical Bare opens December 9 at off-Broadway’s New World Stages, starring Taylor Trensch, Jason Hite and Elizabeth Judd. Directed by Stafford Arima and choreographed by Travis Wall, the revamped revival features music by Damon Intrabartolo, a book and lyrics by Jon Hartmere and additional songs by Hartmere and Lynne Shankel.
In addition to Trensch as Peter, Hite as Jason and Judd as Ivy, Bare stars Gerard Canonico as Matt, Missi Pyle as Sister Joan, Jerold E. Solomon as Father Mike, Barrett Wilbert Weed as Nadia, Casey Garvin as Zach, Ariana Groover as Vanessa, Sara Kapner as Madison, Alice Lee as Diane, Justin Gregory Lopez as Beto, Michael Tacconi as Nick and Alex Wyse as Alan. Megan Lewis and Nick Laughlin serve as swings.
Bare tells the story of a group of teens as they try to discover their identities, sexuality and religion at a co-ed Catholic boarding school. As their last year of high school comes to an end, Peter, Jason and their friends try to navigate the complicated transition from adolescence to adulthood.
The Bare creative team includes set designer Donyale Werle, costume designer Tristan Raines, lighting designer Howell Binkley and sound designer Keith Caggiano.
